“Will you sing something?”
John Lennon: “No, we need money first.”.
Friends of us " http://www.edelhagen.de" gave us the first record contract of the Beatles 1961 in Hamburg. If you buy the album "Liverpool" over my shop http://www.achim-schultz.de and if you would like it i give you a copy of the original contract of 1961.
50 Years of Rock'n Roll...16th August 1960...the Beatles arrived in Hamburg. With 7 Beatles cover songs, Achim Schultz will bring back the memories of 50 years of this unique rock band. Together with recording engineers Hanno Stratmann and Christoph Stickel, he asked the question: how would the Fab 4 create the sound of the 60s today? Everything recorded live, just like on this album, and using the newest digital technology of course. In his own 5 songs, Achim naturally aimed to create the authentic feeling of the 60s, reflected in today's digital age. With the Beatles' songs, Achim incorporated his own style too, otherwise it would be just like putting on the orginals. Of course Achim played everything himself, using the Vox AC 30, the Rickenbacker's, the Epiphone Casino, the Gretsch and the legendary Höfner violin bass. He received great support from Don Albea and Cornel Lonesc, who have already been in the studio with Peter Maffay, lending their support on the violin and harmonica, in classical style. Otto Staniloi (Spider Murphy Gang) contributed a superb saxophone solo in the title song "Liverpool", which had to take the final 14th place because of an inspired but unplanned gag in the studio. One Minute Silence was an idea from Edmund Thielow, who first got the artists who worked with John Lennon together, as explained in the booklet, and who autographed the single which goes with it. Not only the Beatles but a whole invasion of musicians from England took place in Hamburg, where they were received with open arms in the "Star Club" and from where they set out to change the world with their individual styles of Brit Pop. With best wishes Achim Schultz http://www.achim-schultz.de
